Light-bodied red wine

The typical variety of Villány wine region. Smooth, silky and really fruity red wine in which the primary nose and aroma of the grape dominate. Easily drinkable, fresh, pleasant red wine. Do not age it for long time since it is best to drink fresh.

Light, 'new-wine' characteristic. Fruitiness with strawberry and sweet flavours. In the sip freshness, lightness and youthfulness appear, with fine toast aftertaste at the end. Due to the vintage, the barrel ageing was shorter this year, this way we got the usual round, light fruity characteristic, why we love Portugieser.

Food pairing: with liver, any tomato-based Italian food, any paprika-based Hungarian food (goulash, chicken paprika)

Full-bodied premium red wine

Noble like Prince Nandor Montenuovo who owned parts of the Vylyan vineyards at the beginning of the 20th century. It’s a well balanced blend of cabernet franc, merlot, syrah and zweigelt, a golden mean between the full-bodied and the lively-fruity styles. It’s warm scent and luscious aroma is filled with bright rich fruitiness complemented with hints of spices like roasted notes, cocoa and punch.

Food pairing: Due to its complexity it goes well with a wine range of food like barbecue, lamb, duck or pork dishes.

Bock Ermitage 2012

Average: 5 (1 vote)

Medium-bodied red wine

The winery’s most popular wine. Made from 7 different grape varieties from the most beautiful vineyards in the Villány wine region, a cuvee of Merlot, Pinot Noir, Portugieser, Kékfrankos and Syrah built upon a base of Cabernet. It is matured in large oak barrels (70%) and used barrique barrels (30%) for 12 months.

A wine characterized by its medium dark intensity and colour verging on the garnet-red paired with lightly spiced, red-fleshed fruits. The bitterness of the sour cherry with a light chocolate aftertaste can be sensed in its flavour.

Full-bodied premium red wine

The 2011 Franc is rich, with typical varietal characters in which you find vivid, meaty, dark fruitiness and fragrant spices (chocolate, salty caramel, eucalyptus).  It is a well-poised, delicate and refreshing wine with firm acidity, velvety tannins and nice balance.

Gere Kopar 2011

Full-bodied premium red wine

The emblematic top wine of the winery. Only made in the nicest years.  From the selected materials from the best slopes of Villány (Kopár, Csillagvölgy, Konkoly, Ördögárok). The wine is the blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. We age it in barrique for 16-18 months as average.

On the wall of the glass Kopar 2011 creates thick arches. The deep, dark colours show the usual concentration. In its nose it is already quite various: toast, cinnamon, blackberry, cherry, ripe sour cherry, small pepper, clove, vanilla, mineral marks. In its taste it is also complex. The pepper-mineral character can be found here too, which supplements cherry and black berries. The acids are nice, still vibrating. Tannins show more intense character but our wine is still in baby shoes. Its aftertaste is long, the barrique character hides in the background nicely, so the fruits can play the main role. It shows elegant, light character, but also has specific weight, full bodied, and has long ageing potential.
